Coriolanus – 6th to 28th

Why not stroll down to the Crucible Theatre its only a three-minute walk from the Leopold and settle down for one of the best productions the Sheffield Theatres Group as on offer. A contemporary rendition of the William Shakespeare play discovers the disconnection between rulers and those that are ruled where the celebrated super soldier Coriolanus is propelled to power, only to lose the trust of the people. Torn down from his pedestal, banished at the height of his fury, he unites with an old enemy to bring down the city he once fought for.

The Reel Steel Cult Weekender – 13th to 15th

For the film buffs out there it’s a time to immerse yourself in some of the most cult and classic movies of all time. In a similar style to the Leopold being a Grade II listed building the Abbeydale Picture House throws open its doors to showcase some iconic films – so grab your popcorn and settle down to a great weekend watching the 1980 classic Friday the 13th, then we’ve The Evil Dead 1981 film, how about a bit of Assault On Precinct 13 made in 1976 and those of the Arne Army try RoboCop 1987 and much more. Jus remember to return for a sound nights sleep courtesy of the new Seventh Heaven beds at the nearby Leopold Hotel!

The Observatory – 13th to 20th

See the Sheffield Cathedral (just one minutes’ walk from the Leopold) like you’ve never seen a cathedral before…as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope. Exploring Space in a novel location walking journey through time and space, to see Sheffield Cathedral transformed through sound and light to reveal the universe, galaxies and meteor showers.

The RAB CWIF 2020 – 14th to 15th

If your New Year’s resolution was to experience something new then this could be right up your street - CWIF quite simply its a bouldering competition...but with a difference as you don't just come to watch, you come to take part. The Rab CWIF 2020 will be held over 2 days giving you a competition that will push the competitors to the limit. It's open to every climber that wants to have fun. Saturday is your qualifying round and Sunday the semi-finals so go on and get involved – you might even win £1,000! For full details, please click here.

And if you’ve still got oodles of energy why not have a go at this years Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 29th. With a city centre start and finish, a huge crowd of enthusiastic supporters will cheer participants out and back. The event boasts a stunningly scenic route with majestic views of the Peak District on the climb to Ringinglow. The race even incorporates a 'triple test' giving entrants a chance to be crowned Peaks Challenge winners in a timed hill climb, triumph in a times 10K downhill sprint section and cross the finish line first to lift the Sheffield Half Marathon title.
