Friday 12th October saw the return of our ‘Old Boys’, admittedly not in school uniform this time, but smart dapper-chaps all the same.

The 57 past pupils of Central Technical School enjoyed a three-course meal served in what was the CTS Board of Director's boardroom.  The evening commenced with drinks in the Leopold Bar where everyone gathered around the display boards that showcased some remarkable images of what they got up to in their early teens.

At 7.30pm, they made their way into the Oak Suite for dinner. Starting with a warming seasonal apple & parsnip soup served with a fresh bread roll from the very popular Bakewell Pudding Shop. Moving onto a chicken breast served in a mushroom, shallot and red wine sauce accompanied with seasonal vegetables and new potatoes - certainly no lumpy mash here! Then a school-boy favourite, they were served with warm Apple Crumble with custard and cream.  The tables were dressed in the colours of the school ties so there was no getting away from being on your best behaviour here – even if the Headmaster was not around!

The Leopold Hotel is proud to have such a rich history dating back to 1876 when it was first opened as a school by Prince Leopold.  It is simply a hotel like no other. To stay with us, contact one of our friendly reservation's team members today or take a look at our special offers.
